Desktop Multi-Factor Authenticator App (Windows)

1. Install OTP 2FA

2. Go to the Microsoft Store using this link below to download OTP 2FA. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nwzmhcd3scc

3. Click on “Get” to install the app

4. Click on “Open” to launch the app

5. Click on “Yes” to allow the app to run on startup


 

Step Two - Setup Muti-Factor Authentication

1. Log into https://mfa.umassglobal.edu and click on “Add sign-in method"

2. Select Authenticator App and click “Add”

3. Click on “I want to use a different authenticator app”

4. Click “Next”

5. Click on “Can’t scan image?” below the QR code

6. Right click on the OTP 2FA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of the screen), and select “Add Account”


 

7. Copy and paste the Account name and Secret key from the MFA site to the same fields in the OTP 2FA app. Click “OK” in the app and “Next” on the site

8. Right click on the OTP 2FA icon in the system tray, and click on the code to copy it to your system clipboard

9. Paste the code into the verification prompt on the MFA site and click “Next”


 

10. There should now be a notification in the upper right corner of the screen confirming the authenticator app was registered
